Shake Out!

Today we participated in the National Shake Out to practise our Earthquake drill...

We made sure we were able to drop, cover, and hold.  We came across an issue!!

We are in an MLE that doesn't have desks so we had to discuss what we would do and how we would react in an earthquake.

We talked about where we could drop in our classroom:

  • close to walls
  • away from glass
  • away from the TV
We also discussed that we have to drop where we are... but to try and keep the above in mind.

Word sort

We looked at characteristics of what makes a 'wonderful' person and spread these all of the floor

We then talked about the words and if they could be grouped together with words of the same/similar meaning.  This is what we came up with...

New Money

Wow, NZ is getting new money.  How interesting.  Logan started our inquiry into this by bringing a new $5 note in to school for his sharing.

We then researched it further by googling it (Thank GOODNESS for google!!)  We came across this website that is VERY informative!!

Send me in some photos of you with the new notes and I will upload them...
