NOTE: do not add dark colours OR too much of each colour as this will turn your water a dark and murky colour!

Fireworks In A Jar
This was our last experiment of the day. It was a lot of fun watching the oil and food colouring NOT mix together. The heat of the water made the food colouring expand and fill up the water in firework shapes! It was great to watch.
Exploding Milk
Today we played with Milk, food colouring, dishwashing liquid, vinegar and baking soda.
This experiment worked without us adding anymore ingredients! Take a look at our photos...

Dancing Rice
We followed the instructions and we found out that...
It didn't work very well. So we added more baking soda, this didn't help. We added more rice and they started to dance!
What fun activity. Take a look at the task card to see if you can do this at home!!!

We also agree that you do not need to use the food colouring!!

Mulching trees at Waitoetoe Park
Today we went to Waitoetoe park to mulch the trees that were planted at the start of the year. It was a successful trip. There were lots of smilies and little hard workers. We even had time to find worms for Miss Denniston's fishing elective which was lots of fun!
